information about facilitating a group
Overview:
TBG is a valuable study tool for those seeking to leave sexual and relational brokenness in pursuit of an intimate walk with God. The material has been constructed for individual study or group use. Each topic is intended to challenge the participant to grow beyond his or her own limitations and find the strength in Christ. Many people have experienced the benefits of this study and are now walking in freedom from addictions, self-hatred, self-centeredness, and gender confusion. We invite you to facilitate a group for those in your area that desire support and encouragement. We have created this program, so that you can let the videos and material teach, while you simply lead discussion.
Process and Procedure:
Establishing Safety: Our first desire is that everyone facilitating a group, is a safe and supportive person. We will ask that each facilitator agree to our core beliefs, doctrinal statement, guidelines for leading, and agreement to our liability agreement. Each facilitator will need to be connected to either a church or an Exodus ministry and have at least one person in which you are accountable. We will call this person, your "Supervisor". A Supervisor could be your ministry leader, your board chairman, a person on your elder team, or comrade in ministry, et. Have your supervisor, visit this site and read what is required of you, the facilitator.
Please review these standards before signing up as a facilitator. Ask your supervisor to read them as well. You will be asked to sign these documents to be approved:
Core beliefs
Doctrinal statement
Guidelines for leading
Liability agreement
Once you agree to the safeguards, you may sign up as a facilitator of a group. Your group will be listed on this website, but understand that your primary participants will be people you already know within your ministry or church. You will be given a Group ID number in which you will pass on to all interested participants. Those that find your group through this site, will need to first contact you for the Group ID number (it will be up to you to decide on who participates). There is no cost for facilitators, and only $50 for each participant going through each Part One (21 weeks). You can choose to do Part Two, (another 21 weeks), after Part One is completed.
As a facilitator, you will have access to:
Your group participant's contact information
Your group participant's intake forms
All teaching videos for video projection at your location
All Taking Back Ground lessons in PDF
Helpful worksheets for group discussion and exerises
All the daily devotions, sent to each participant
Group members will have access to:
Their personal profile information
You and your supervisor's contact information
Home page with: Video shown at previous class & upcoming lesson
in pdf
Video lesson library - only videos that have alredy been viewed by the group
PDF lesson library - only the lesson for the coming week and lessons from all previous weeks
E-mailed devotionals and a record of previous devotionals on their profile page
Helpful worksheets for their journey, found in the facilitator's area.
Schedule and format:
You set the date and time of your group meetings and share with participants
Participants will download the week's lesson, from this site, BEFORE your group meeting
Participants complete that entire lesson to discuss at the upcoming class
Participants will receive daily devotions (5 devotions a week), between your meetings
When your group meets, you can offer a time of worship and then show that week's teaching
After the video, you discuss elements of the lesson and/or share about each person's week
After the evening is over, you will log in and upload the next week's PDF for your class
We will offer details on managing the videos and lessons inside the program
We are available for consulting with any questions you may have
May the Lord give you wisdom as you consider facilitating a Taking Back Ground program.
